FAQs:
Q1. Why Khmer Unicode font does not display properly in Microsoft Office Word for Mac?
A1. There is a trick to make the Khmer Unicode font works with Microsoft Office for Mac. Go to Format > Font >Enable all ligatures in document for Kh-Battambang font.
I also included the pdf file instruction in the Khmer Unicode MacOSX Lite V2 package, you can find it under the KhmerUnicodeMacOSX folder in the Applications folder.
Q2. Which Mac OS does Khmer Unicode MacOSX Lite V2 support?
A2. I tested the Khmer Unicode MacOSX Lite V2 under Mac OS 10.4.11, 10.5.6 and 1o.6.2. If you have any problem with Khmer Unicode MacOSX Lite V2, please read the pdf instruction file found in Applications under KhmerUnicodeMacOSX folder.
Q3. Why the Khmer Unicode font doesn’t display “Cheung” properly?
A3.
Possibility 1: You may have other non-Mac OS Khmer Unicode fonts installed, so delete them, keep only Kh-Battambang that comes with Khmer Unicode MacOSX lite package.
Possibility 2: You haven’t enable Ligature feature, so you need to enable Font Ligature feature of the application.
For example, in Stickies, go to Font> Ligature > Use All
In TextEdit, go to Format > Font > Ligature > Use All
Possibility 3: You visit websites using CSS3 web font technology to embed non-MacOS Khmer Unicode fonts, Example khmeros.info.
If you have”Cheung” problem in Microsoft Office read FAQs Q1.
Q4. How can I get more Khmer Unicode fonts for Mac OS?
A4. Mr Danh Hong offers Kh-Battambang font for Mac OS to everyone for free, but if you want more fonts and you are willing to pay for the fonts, please contact Mr. Danh Hong at dnhhng @ gmail . com as he created nearly 10 fonts for Mac or contact Xenotype by visiting http://www.xenotypetech.com/osxCambodian.html

Q6. Does Opera support Khmer Unicode?
A6. At the time of this writing, I cannot get Khmer Unicode to work with Opera browser, it seems that the browser doesn’t understand Khmer Unicode.

A. Not at all, all you need to do is to delete Kh-Battambang.ttf from Library > Fonts.
Q8. Does it compatible with Xenotype?
A8. Not sure. I don’t have Xenotype. But if you already bought fonts from Xenotype, and having problem with Kh-Battambang.ttf installed, just delete Kh-Battambang.ttf from your local disk > Library > Fonts.

Dear admin,
The Khmer Unicode MacOSX Lite V2 that I downloaded doesn’t work porperly in my Macbook Pro Leopard 10.5.7. There is a problem with font rendering, we can’t see the foot character (ដាក់ជើង). But khmer unicode text written using Mac render a proper view in Windows system (Both Windows XP and Vista).
PS: The picture shown as a proof of a working Khmer Unicode in Mac is a picture taken from Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.x ?
I think Khmer Unicode is only work in Tiger since my iPhone can view and write Khmer Unicode.
Hi Soknarun,
Thank you for your feedback. I tested the font under Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.11 and iPhone OS 3.1.
I have a few questions for you.
1. Does Khmer Unicode font work properly when you visit nokorsoft website using Safari?
2. What are the software applications that do not work with the Khmer Unicode font (or all of them)?
Note: There is a trick to make the Khmer Unicode font works with Microsoft Office for Mac, I have included the pdf file instruction in the Khmer Unicode MacOSX Lite V2 package, you can find it under the KhmerUnicodeMacOSX folder in the Applications folder.

I read your answer for Soknarun, But i still have problem with foot character in MS Word 2008 for mac.
Finally, Does Khmer Unicode working on Mac? I use MacBook Pro and OS Mac OS X V10.6.2 or Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
I’m looking forward for hear from u.
Regard,
Chenda EL
Dear Chenda El,
1. Try to browse http://www.google.com.kh by using safari, if you can see the Choeung working on the page. If not, either the font was not installed correctly or you have other Khmer Unicode fonts installed.
2. Do you have any other Khmer software or Khmer Unicode fonts installed?
If you have other Khmer Unicode fonts installed, please delete them and keep only Kh-Battambang font included with Khmer Unicode Mac OS X package. Make sure you backup those fonts before you delete it.
To delete the font, just go to Application Folder, run Font Book, and delete unwanted font.
3. In MS word 2008, you need to enable ligature for Kh-battambang font,
4. Khmer Unicode Mac OS X has been tested under Mac OS 10.4.11, 10.5.2 and 10.5.6; I am not quite sure about 10.6.23.
Go to Format > Font > select Kh-battambang > Under Advanced option select enable all ligatures in document
After you have tried all of these options, and none of them work for you; the last option is to buy Khmer Unicode font from http://www.xenotypetech.com/osxCambodian.html

Try different browsers such as Firefox and Google Chrome. Kohsantepheap Daily is using NiDASowannaphum CSS3 webfont. However, It is working fine on my Leopard (both Safari and Firefox).
